Hyderabad, June 30 (NationPress) A catastrophic reactor explosion at an industrial facility in Pashamylaram, located near Hyderabad, claimed the lives of at least eight workers and left 28 others injured on Monday morning.
The event transpired at a chemical manufacturing plant in Sangareddy district around 9 a.m.
The blast incited a significant fire that engulfed Sigachi Chemicals premises. Firefighters swiftly arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames, utilizing eleven fire engines to bring the situation under control.
Authorities from police and fire services initiated immediate rescue and relief efforts. Ambulances were dispatched to transport the injured individuals to nearby hospitals.
Of the deceased, five workers perished at the site, while three others succumbed to their injuries at hospitals. Two of the identified deceased at a private hospital in Madinguda were Abhishek Kumar from Bihar and Nagarjit Tiwari from Odisha.
