Agartala, March 11 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, announced on Tuesday that plans are in place to establish satellite townships in three different regions of the state.
While speaking at a district-level workshop regarding the discussions from the 4th National Conference of Chief Secretaries held at Rajarshi Hall in southern Tripura's Udaipur, the Chief Minister emphasized that these townships would be developed systematically, incorporating all essential amenities.
“We have initiated a single window portal to enhance ease of doing business. It’s crucial that we intensify our efforts, particularly in the aspirational districts. Moreover, we need to concentrate on an affordable housing policy and investigate avenues for income generation,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister highlighted that government officials and employees are the backbone of any state and must prioritize key sectors.
Saha stated that without dedicated officials and employees, progress in any state, district, or nation is unattainable.
“I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reinforcing cooperative federalism in our nation. His vision for national development is commendable. He provides guidance, which is implemented by officials. We are committed to serving the public tirelessly. Recently, during the Chief Ministers' conclave, I presented our ‘Amar Sarkar’ portal, which received commendations from the PM,” he noted.
He mentioned that the Chief Secretaries’ Conference previously highlighted six key areas, including manufacturing, services, rural non-farm sectors, urban development, renewable energy, and the circular economy.
Saha added that extensive discussions took place regarding Self-Help Groups (SHGs), noting that while the number of SHGs has surged in Tripura, quality and productivity are equally vital.
He recommended a competition among Tripura's eight districts under the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative.
“We possess abundant talent, and it is imperative that we work towards advancing the state. Officials and employees should serve the people diligently and set a standard that will be cherished forever. We have successfully implemented the e-office system from the state Assembly down to the Panchayat level, making Tripura the only state in the country to achieve this. We have transitioned from a performing state to a front-runner state,” declared the Chief Minister.
He also mentioned that Tripura's GSDP has increased, ranking it as the second-highest in the northeastern region.
The event saw participation from Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, PWD and Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Science and Technology Secretary K. Shashi Kumar, District Magistrates from various districts, and senior civil and police officials.
