Jammu, Oct 16 (NationPress) The assets belonging to a terror operative from Pakistan in the Mahore region of J&K's Reasi district have been confiscated, as per a police announcement made on Thursday.

"In a substantial setback to the terrorist networks functioning in Jammu and Kashmir, the District Police Reasi, under the guidance of SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh, has taken possession of the property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror operative, Mohd Sharif Mirasi, son of Ghulam Mohd, who hails from Sildhar Mahore," the statement indicated.

As per police reports, Sharif Mirasi enlisted with terrorist groups in 2000 and subsequently escaped to Pakistan in 2010 to acquire weapons, ammunition, and undergo training to wage war against India. Initially linked with Hizbul Mujahideen, he later joined the banned terrorist organization LeT, actively promoting terrorism from abroad.

"In this decisive operation, 3 kanals and 6 marlas of land, designated by khasra numbers 138 and 150 at Sildhar Mahore, have been attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)A). This legal action is associated with FIR No. 70/2024 registered at Police Station Mahore, including charges under Sections 61(2), 148, 149 BNS and Sections 13, 18, 20, 38 of UA(P) Act, along with Sections 2/3 of IMCO Act," the police statement detailed.

The SSP Reasi emphasized that this decisive action forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle the logistical, financial, and operational frameworks of terror groups and their cross-border sponsors, the statement concluded.

"The seizure of this property conveys a powerful message to those who persist in engaging in or supporting anti-national activities from within or outside the nation," he was quoted as saying.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their steadfast commitment to maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region while targeting the infrastructure and support systems of terrorist organizations, the statement added.

J&K Police, alongside security forces, have been conducting vigorous anti-terror operations in the region against terrorists, their overground affiliates, sympathizers, drug smugglers/peddlers, and individuals involved in hawala money schemes.

In their revised strategy, security forces are executing these operations in a coordinated fashion to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terror in J&K, rather than focusing solely on armed terrorists.

On Wednesday, police in Srinagar district conducted raids at 18 locations associated with terror sympathizers/associates in the city as part of ongoing efforts to make the Kashmir Valley free from terrorism.

Alongside these operations, police are also confiscating the properties of terrorists or those who established such assets through terrorism.
