During the annual award distribution ceremony at Shankaracharya Vidyaniketan Girls’ School in Agartala, which celebrated its foundation day, the Chief Minister expressed that education should extend beyond mere textbooks, aiding students in evolving into morally responsible and socially aware individuals.
Saha highlighted the necessity for teachers to adopt an active role in imparting moral knowledge, cultural insight, and practical life skills, in addition to academic education.
“Reading books is essential, but children also need to maintain their physical health and develop a solid grasp of culture and agriculture,” stated Saha, who oversees the Elementary and Secondary Education Departments.
The Chief Minister remarked that the foundation day is a joyous occasion not only for students but also for teachers, parents, and all stakeholders in education.
He reiterated that the Tripura government is persistently working to elevate the standard of education throughout the state.
During the recently conducted ‘Prabashi Tripura’ conference, the Chief Minister noted that many successful individuals from Tripura, who currently reside in various states and countries, are eager to contribute to the state's growth.
“Approximately 85 representatives participated in the conference and expressed their commitment to work for Tripura. Together, we can create a ‘Srestha Tripura’. These individuals can significantly contribute to making Tripura a developed and exemplary state,” he remarked.
Saha characterized education as a vital instrument for social and economic empowerment.
“A person educated with values earns respect in society. Education is a lifelong journey, and both teachers and students must continually evolve to keep pace with rapid changes,” he stated.
Reiterating that fortifying students’ morals remains the government’s primary focus, the Chief Minister emphasized that the youth demographic aged 18 to 35 is a tremendous asset for the nation, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“These young individuals will propel India to become one of the most powerful nations globally. With nearly 50% of our population being women, our government is prioritizing women’s empowerment,” he added.
Emphasizing the transformative capacity of education, Saha noted that it acts as a bridge between ignorance and enlightenment. “The Prime Minister has envisioned a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, and we are aligning our efforts towards achieving ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’,” he affirmed.
