Agartala, June 20 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, stated on Friday that the previous era was marked by politics steeped in corruption, scams, and appeasement, whereas the current central and state governments are dedicated to development, innovation, and inaugurations.
Addressing an event commemorating 11 years of Seva, Sushasan, and Garib Kalyan under the NDA government in Santirbazar of South District, Saha highlighted that citizens have witnessed the transformation brought about by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the last 11 years, experiencing a stark contrast from the previous administration.
“Before 2014, India faced numerous challenges. We must not forget our past. During times of multiple attacks from Pakistan and rising insurgency in the northeast, accountability was lacking. However, everything changed when Modi took office in 2014. While many are aware of Gujarat's condition, it was under PM Modi’s leadership that significant changes were made, showcasing the Gujarat model. The world now looks at India with admiration,” Saha remarked.
He emphasized the shift from religion-based politics to a focus on the empowerment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women, which he believes is vital for national progress. “PM Modi prioritizes the welfare of all communities and implements numerous schemes. His legacy will be etched in golden letters in India’s history. He has safeguarded us, revitalized the economy, advanced technology, and provided so much,” Saha declared, emphasizing the government's commitment to connecting with its people.
He reiterated that while past politics were marred by corruption, the current government prioritizes development, innovation, and inaugurations. Notably, during the tenure of the Left Front in Tripura, there were around 69 political murders in Santirbazar, but since the BJP took power, not a single political murder has occurred, he asserted.
He further pointed out that under PM Modi's leadership, India’s economy has ascended from 11th to 4th globally. “PM Modi has demonstrated what true performance means and how to serve the nation. Though Tripura is small, we stand second in per capita income within the Northeast. Nationally, there has been a remarkable 67% rise in per capita income,” he said.
The event also saw the presence of BJP state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, MLAs Pramod Reang and Swapna Majumder, South District BJP President Dipayan Chowdhury, among others.
