Did Trivedi Truly Call LoP ‘Lashkar-e-Rahul’ After Youth Congress Protest?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) In response to the shirtless demonstration by Youth Congress members during the India AI Impact Summit, BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Saturday aimed sharp criticism at the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, dubbing him as 'Lashkar-e-Rahul' and asserting that this incident will remain etched in the nation’s memory.
Addressing the media, Trivedi remarked, “At the AI Summit, we were presented with an extraordinary showcase of India’s talent and intellect. Conversely, we witnessed a disgraceful exhibition of the Congress party’s triviality and indecency. What unfolded was not merely politics; it cannot be brushed aside as negative politics.”
He further added, “This amounts to treachery against the nation. At a time when the entire country is in a state of unrest, such conduct is intolerable. Never before have we encountered such low-level protests during any international summit — including those held under Congress administrations. I believe that the citizens of this country will not forgive this humiliating act.”
Trivedi emphasized that as the nation hosts a significant AI Summit, displaying its technological advancements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, such actions only serve to tarnish India’s reputation on the global stage.
“Previously, Rahul Gandhi traveled abroad making questionable remarks. Now, the so-called warriors of ‘Lashkar-e-Rahul’ are attempting to damage the nation’s image before global leaders,” he stated.
He concluded by highlighting that the Congress party has consistently overstepped the boundaries of political decorum, blurring the line between democratic opposition and irresponsible behavior.
Meanwhile, BJP workers protested outside the Congress headquarters in Delhi on Saturday, condemning the actions of Youth Congress members during the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam.
This protest followed an announcement from Virendra Sachdeva, who plans to lead a march from the Man Singh Road roundabout to the Congress office at 24 Akbar Road, denouncing what he termed as hooliganism exhibited by Youth Congress workers at the summit venue.
