Is India Leading the World in AI While the Opposition Remains in 'Perpetual Frustration'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) Emphasizing India's technological prowess, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP and party spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, on Thursday, lauded the nation’s advancements in the technology sector, while chastising the Opposition for their lack of recognition. Trivedi stated, "While the technology sector in India is thriving and citizens are filled with pride, the Congress party and other opposition figures have yet to make a single positive remark. They haven’t even acknowledged our progress. Technological growth should transcend political divides, yet they persist in displaying personal envy and resentment towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is quite regrettable."
He remarked that when the BJP was in the Opposition, it consistently recognized every technological milestone in India and commended the contributions of scientists.
"At the very least, the Opposition could have acknowledged and celebrated the accomplishments of our tech industry," the BJP Rajya Sabha MP asserted.
Trivedi characterized India as evolving into a new powerhouse, while the Congress remains stuck in a state of ongoing frustration.
His statements come as the World AI Summit is currently taking place in India, featuring participation from high-profile global leaders, including United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron, alongside heads of state from 22 other nations.
"Renowned global IT corporations are also involved in this event, showcasing India’s rising prominence in artificial intelligence," he added.
Reflecting on past skepticism, Trivedi recalled that a former Finance Minister (implicitly referring to P. Chidambaram) had once suggested in Parliament that Indians were incapable of mastering new technologies or comprehending digital transactions.
Today, BJP leader Trivedi asserted that India leads globally in digital transactions and is showcasing its leadership in AI on the international platform, a success he credits to the strategic vision and effective leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
He further praised Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and his team for their "exemplary efforts in actualizing the Prime Minister's vision."
On artificial intelligence, Trivedi commented, "AI, or 'Kritim Buddhi' in Hindi, is a remarkable achievement. However, it is beyond the grasp of those with 'Vikrit buddhi' (distorted intellect). Only individuals lacking basic intelligence fail to recognize India’s splendor in AI."
