New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) signifies a shift of similar importance as pivotal moments in human history. He expressed that what is currently observed and anticipated are merely the early indications of its profound influence.
During the launch of the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ at Bharat Mandapam, the Prime Minister emphasized that this summit is not only the largest of its kind but also historic, taking place in India—a nation that embodies one-sixth of the global population.
“India boasts the world’s largest youth demographic, an extensive tech talent reservoir, and a vibrant tech-driven ecosystem. The country is not only innovating new technologies but also adopting them at an unparalleled speed,” PM Modi stated to an enthusiastic audience.
He pointed out that 140 crore Indians are ready to welcome new technological advancements and extended a heartfelt greeting to global leaders, innovators, and government heads attending the summit on their behalf.
The Prime Minister noted the robust representation of youth at the summit, which he believes inspires renewed confidence.
He remarked that although new technologies often encounter initial doubt, the acceptance and ownership of AI by the youth globally, along with their unprecedented speed in utilizing it, is remarkable.
PM Modi also highlighted the excitement surrounding the summit's exhibition, particularly the considerable involvement of young talent.
He discussed that solutions showcased in fields like agriculture, security, support for divyangjan, and catering to multilingual populations illustrate the strength of ‘Made in India’ and demonstrate India’s innovative prowess in the realm of AI.
He asserted that while AI enhances machine intelligence, it fundamentally amplifies human potential exponentially.
“AI is a transformative force—without proper guidance, it can lead to chaos, but with the right direction, it becomes a remedy,” PM Modi commented. “AI should be given a free reign, yet human oversight must prevail,” he added.
The Prime Minister likened AI to GPS, which provides suggested routes while leaving the final choice to the user. He stressed that the path humanity takes with AI today will shape the future.
PM Modi indicated that AI will also unlock higher-value, creative, and significant roles for a broader population, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and new industries. He emphasized the necessity of making skilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning a collective movement.
Reiterating that the future of work must be inclusive, trustworthy, and centered on humanity, the Prime Minister affirmed that if humanity progresses together, AI will elevate human abilities to unprecedented heights.
