New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Tuesday that the five-day AI Impact Summit offers a unique chance for India's tech-savvy youth to devise solutions for global challenges. He expressed pride in convening the largest assembly of leaders in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In a media briefing, the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology highlighted that the AI Summit presents a significant investment opportunity, predicting that India could attract investments exceeding $200 billion within the next two years.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his vision in making technology accessible, emphasizing that the focus of this five-day summit is to address the various challenges faced by India's vast population and to pursue comprehensive solutions.

In an interview with IANS, Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned that tech leaders from around the world have gathered at the AI summit, where they will collaborate to discuss and develop technology-based solutions for the pressing issues affecting the globe today.

He articulated that India's youth have a golden opportunity to play a role in shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by innovating within the deep-tech sector and influencing the global digital landscape.

He referred to the ongoing summit as the largest AI gathering, stating that the enthusiasm and energy of India's youth are palpable, eager to make a significant impact with their skills and efforts.

“India’s youth are inherently tech-savvy and quick to embrace new technologies. They should leverage the potential of AI and similar tools to create solutions while adhering to the highest ethical standards,” he emphasized.

The Union Minister also underscored the need for strong regulatory frameworks to ensure that technology is utilized for the greater good and not misused.

Addressing the rising threat of deepfakes, he noted that this issue is becoming increasingly serious and indicated that the government has initiated discussions with industry stakeholders to manage it effectively.

Earlier that day, PM Modi shared insights from the ongoing AI Impact Expo, describing it as a convergence of ideas and intent.

It is worth noting that numerous heads of state, along with delegations from over a dozen countries, have arrived in the capital to engage in the AI Summit. With global leaders and technology giants in attendance, this event holds the potential to foster multiple collaborations, reinforcing India's role in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and governance.
