Jaipur, Nov 26 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the 'Yamuna Pravah Yatra' from the Amar Jawan Jyoti in Jaipur as part of the nationwide 'Unity March'. This event commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The march welcomed participants from eight states, including Rajasthan.
Prominent BJP leaders such as MP Manju Sharma and MLAs Kalicharan Saraf, Bal Mukundacharya, and Gopal Sharma attended the ceremony.
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that the march's purpose is to promote the message of national unity and to underline Sardar Patel's significant role in unifying princely states post-Independence.
As part of the anniversary celebration, four 'yatras' named after significant rivers are organized across the nation, with two routes traversing through Rajasthan.
The 'Ganga Pravah Yatra', which was launched from Delhi by Union Health Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda, will journey through Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Chittorgarh, and Udaipur before arriving at Karamsad in Gujarat.
Meanwhile, the 'Yamuna Pravah Yatra' will pass through Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, and Sirohi before entering Gujarat. Together, the two routes in Rajasthan will encompass ten districts.
Each participating district will send two representatives along with several youth volunteers from the BJP Yuva Morcha to join the march. Cultural programs celebrating local traditions will occur along the route.
In Alwar, performers showcased Bharathari dances, while Sawai Madhopur hosted a Kanhaiya Dangal.
Events are also scheduled in Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur. The first segment of the Yatra includes an interaction with students at Haridev Joshi Journalism University and an evening visit to the Brahma Temple in Pushkar.
As the march continues, additional student dialogues, outreach campaigns, and heritage visits are planned.
All four marches will culminate at Karamsad, Gujarat, where the final ceremony will be held.
The BJP asserts that this initiative seeks to deepen public awareness of Sardar Patel's contributions to nation-building and foster unity and pride among citizens, especially the youth.
