Kochi, May 27 (NationPress) An FIR has been lodged against the well-known Malayalam film star Unni Mukundan after a complaint was filed by his self-proclaimed manager, who alleged that Mukundan assaulted him.
According to the complaint by Vipin Kumar, the incident took place at Mukundan's apartment complex located near Kochi, Kerala.
Kumar claimed that the actor was displeased because he was promoting a film featuring another acclaimed actor, Tovino Thomas.
Over the years, Kumar has been managing social media accounts for several rising actors, including Mukundan and Thomas.
However, sources close to Mukundan have vehemently rejected Kumar's accusations.
Mukundan clarified that while there was no physical altercation, he did break Kumar’s sunglasses during a dispute.
He also mentioned that Kumar serves as a public relations officer in the film industry.
Authorities are preparing to proceed with the investigation following the filing of the FIR, which includes questioning Mukundan.
In response to the incident, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), representing 21 trade unions in the Malayalam film sector, has decided to launch an inquiry into Kumar's allegations.
Mukundan made his acting debut in a Tamil film in 2011, and the following year, he gained prominence in the Malayalam industry with 'Mallu Singh'.
Since then, he has solidified his reputation and is now a highly sought-after actor in both Tamil and Telugu films.
His career saw a remarkable boost in 2022 with the success of 'Malikappuram' and 'Marco', further elevating his status as a leading star.
Earlier this month, Mukundan revealed plans to direct his first feature film, a superhero project to be produced by Sree Gokulam Movies alongside V C Praveen and Baiju Gopalan, with a script penned by Maverick Midhun Manuel Thomas.
He expressed his intention to start this superhero film after completing his commitments in Telugu cinema, with pre-production already underway and filming set to commence next year.
