As per government officials, there will be exhibitions and films regarding India’s partition showcased in schools, colleges, and universities statewide.
While August 14 will be recognized in every district as ‘Partition Horror Memorial Day’, these programs are designed to help the youth grasp the tragedy of the 1947 partition. Families of survivors will also be invited to share their poignant experiences.
The events, organized by the Department of Culture in partnership with social and voluntary organizations, are intended to pay tribute to those who were displaced.
Families affected by the Partition will be welcomed to these events, where homage will be paid to those who lost their lives during this calamity.
The Yogi Adityanath administration has directed the Department of Culture to engage various social and non-governmental organizations, such as the Sindhi Council of India, Uttar Pradesh Sindhi Sabha, Uttar Pradesh Sindhi Academy, and Sanatani Punjabi Mahasabha.
In designated locations throughout the state, historical exhibitions focused on the partition horrors will be held. These exhibitions will feature photographs, newspaper clippings, literature, government documents, and personal artifacts belonging to displaced families.
Publishers and booksellers will also take part in the exhibitions. Under the supervision of the Department of Culture, films and documentaries that explore the horrors of the India-Pakistan Partition will be screened at the exhibition sites and in educational institutions.
