Dehradun, Oct 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, officially commenced the nine-day Shri Kunjapuri Tourism Development Fair on Monday, during which he made significant announcements aimed at enhancing the aesthetics of temples, infrastructure, roads, and canals in the area.

He paid homage to the martyrs at the Freedom Struggle Martyrs Memorial and inaugurated a development exhibition.

In his address, the Chief Minister congratulated all attendees on the inception of the festival, emphasizing that the fair symbolizes folk faith, cultural heritage, and a glorious tradition.

“This long-standing fair has consistently fueled trade, tourism, and regional growth,” he remarked, sharing visuals from the event on his social media platforms.

He further stated, “Our culture transcends mere customs; it embodies an ideology that inspires us towards innovation.”

Moreover, the Chief Minister reiterated his government’s dedication to Uttarakhand's development, actively working to preserve religious sites and maintain the state's identity.

Recognizing that migration is a pressing issue, he noted that substantial plans are in progress to address it, bolster the local economy, and enhance tourism. He highlighted initiatives to promote local products on both national and international stages, detailing how policies such as the Farm Machinery Bank, Film Policy, Apple Mission, and Homestays are pivotal in strengthening the local economy.

The Chief Minister announced that Uttarakhand is the pioneering state in India to enforce the Uniform Civil Code.

“With the introduction of a robust anti-plagiarism law, over 26,000 youths have secured transparent employment in the last four years,” he added, mentioning how initiatives aimed at preventing religious conversions and eradicating illegal encroachments have played a significant role in restoring public trust in governance.

Uttarakhand's Minister of Forest and Technical Education, Subodh Uniyal, remarked that the Maa Kunjapuri Fair not only showcases the state’s culture and traditions but also serves as a substantial platform to familiarize attendees with the diverse cultures of the country and state.

“This fair continuously progresses towards sports and development with collaborative efforts,” he concluded.
