Key Takeaways
Dehradun, April 3 (NationPress) The government of Uttarakhand has initiated a significant reshuffling of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, effective immediately, to enhance public administration.
As per a directive from the Home Department, this reshuffle encompasses crucial appointments related to the forthcoming Kumbh Mela and adjustments in district-level policing.
Amit Singh Rawat, formerly the Inspector General of Police (Personnel) at police headquarters, has been designated as the Inspector General of Police for the Kumbh Mela.
This strategic move positions him to oversee security and law enforcement operations for this major religious event.
Ayush Agrawal, the current Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Tehri, will now serve as the SSP at the Kumbh Mela.
His placement is part of the state government’s commitment to bolster security for the large-scale religious gathering that draws millions of devotees.
In addition, Shweta Chaubey, who previously held the role of Commandant of IRB II, has been appointed as the new SSP of Tehri, succeeding Agrawal. This adjustment reflects a notable shift in the district’s police leadership.
Furthermore, Vishakha, who is currently the Superintendent of Police overseeing Crime Against Women, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Training, has been reassigned as the Commandant of IRB II.
The order mandates all implicated officers to promptly take on their new roles and submit a charge report to the state government via Uttarakhand's Director General of Police, Deepam Seth.
This notification, issued by Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, has been disseminated among senior officials, including Director General of Police Deepam Seth, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, and relevant departments for necessary actions.
The objective of this reshuffle is to enhance administrative efficacy and reinforce security measures in light of upcoming major events in the state.
