New Delhi, Oct 7 (NationPress) In a significant move, the Union Home Ministry has transferred six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from their positions in Delhi on Tuesday, just ahead of the heightened security alert for Diwali.
Among the transferred officers, three from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre will be reassigned to Jammu and Kashmir, while the remaining will be posted in Arunachal Pradesh.
The officers affected by the transfer are: Chepyala Anjitha (to Arunachal Pradesh), Sukant Shailja Ballabh (to J&K), Sukhraj Katewa (to Arunachal Pradesh), Krishan Kumar (to J&K), Kamal Pal Singh Malhotra (to J&K), and Pankaj Kumar (to Arunachal Pradesh).
Additionally, senior IPS officer Praveen Kumar Tripathi is set to join the Delhi Police from his current role in Puducherry.
An official statement from the Union Home Ministry released on Tuesday stated, “With the approval of Competent Authority, the posting of the following IPS officers of AGMUT Cadre is ordered with immediate effect and until further orders.”
Notably, the transfer of Krishan Kumar and Pankaj Kumar will be effective from April 1, 2026.
This shake-up in the Delhi Police comes shortly after Satish Golcha took charge as the new Commissioner in August.
