New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) - Spokesperson for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vinod Bansal, declared on Saturday that if Hindus are subjected to violence in West Bengal in connection with the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, then both suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will bear responsibility.

This statement coincides with December 6, which marks the 33rd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.

Kabir had revealed plans to lay the foundation stone of the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad on December 6 — a declaration that faced significant backlash — while ignoring concerns from Raj Bhawan regarding law and order, leading to his suspension from the Trinamool.

In response, the VHP spokesperson took to X, asserting, "If Hindus are attacked anywhere under the guise of Babri, Humayun Kabir, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and the state administration will be held accountable."

Recalling the violence in Murshidabad from April, Bansal accused Kabir of "orchestrating new violence under the banner of Babri".

"It has been less than nine months since the horrific attacks on minority Hindus in Murshidabad, and now the former TMC MLA is attempting to incite further violence in the name of Babri!" he remarked.

The VHP spokesperson further claimed that Kabir aspires to be the 'Jinnah of Bengal' by appealing to the "Jihadi vote bank".

"Though Humayun Kabir may not share the bloodline of Babur, it appears that the spirit of that foreign invader has certainly influenced him. This fanatic is driven to construct the Babri Masjid while accumulating wealth from petrodollars and zakat! Moreover, he seems intent on becoming the Jinnah of Bengal by courting the Jihadi vote bank," he said.

Bansal emphasized that Kabir is openly "challenging" the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple case and is "engaging in petty politics to provoke communal discord both in Bengal and across the nation through his Jihadi group."

"Someone ought to inform this Mir Baqi, who evidently lacks insight into the nation’s history, that Babar's tomb in Afghanistan was obliterated 33 years ago. If Babri is to be reconstructed, let it be there. Meanwhile, the ruling on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi has now established itself as the ultimate truth," he added.

He cautioned about potential law and order issues in Bengal, stating, "The venom being disseminated in the name of Babri against the Hindus of Bengal, who are already suffering from the threats posed by Bangladeshi infiltrators and Jihadi extremists, could lead to severe repercussions on the state’s law and order situation."

If the state government genuinely respects the law, the VHP spokesperson urged, it should promptly take stringent measures to prevent the "misdeeds of this Mughal-loving MLA."

"The faith of millions of Hindus is not a political tool that any reckless MLA can exploit to advance his Muslim appeasement agenda," he insisted.

"Should any disturbance, riot, violence, or chaos against Hindus occur anywhere across the nation, including Bengal, under the guise of this Babri Masjid, the responsibility will rest with Humayun Kabir, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and her government. It would be prudent for the Union Home Ministry and the state governor to intervene and mitigate such riotous mentalities promptly," he warned.

In the meantime, security measures have been heightened in Murshidabad ahead of Kabir's planned foundation-laying event.

The Calcutta High Court has instructed the state government to take all necessary actions to avert any communal tensions surrounding the event.

Point of View

It is crucial to maintain communal harmony and respect the sentiments of all communities involved. The VHP's warnings highlight the potential for unrest, and it is the responsibility of the state and central governments to ensure peace and address any provocative actions swiftly.
