Patna, Oct 2 (NationPress) Celebrating Vijayadashami, a festival representing the triumph of good over evil, the Dussehra Committee held a magnificent Ravana Vadh ceremony at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Thursday evening.
An impressive 80-foot Ravana, along with a 75-foot Meghnad and a 70-foot Kumbhakarna effigy, was set ablaze amidst the jubilant chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”
Despite meticulous arrangements, the event faced challenges due to heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
The effigies, covered with polythene sheets for protection against the rain, unfortunately became waterlogged.
At one stage, Ravana's head came loose and hung precariously, complicating the ignition process.
Nevertheless, after considerable effort, the effigies of Ravana and Meghnath were successfully ignited, while Kumbhakarna's effigy caught fire partially, delighting the thousands of devotees present at the historic venue.
Earlier in the day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended his heartfelt greetings to the citizens of the state.
In a message shared on his official X account, Kumar stated, “Warmest congratulations and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.
