New Delhi/Bhopal, Dec 29 (NationPress) In the midst of a lively discussion regarding former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh's recent social media activity and images that commend the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Kailash Vijayavargiya, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the State Urban and Housing Minister, referred to the seasoned Congress Rajya Sabha MP as 'courageous' on Monday.
Vijayavargiya equated Singh's bravery in 'speaking the truth' to that of the former Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Nonetheless, the BJP leader indicated that Singh's remarks might not sit well with the Congress High Command.
"It is natural to have ideological differences in a democracy, but one must possess the courage to speak the truth, a quality not everyone has. By praising the RSS, Digvijaya Singh has shown his bravery," Vijayavargiya expressed on his official X account.
In his post, the Madhya Pradesh Minister also remarked, "While this may have diminished Singh's standing in Delhi (Congress High Command), he has upheld the tradition of Congress leaders from the 1950s, like Sardar Patel, who had the courage to tell the truth. This is the essence of democracy."
This marks the second occasion within a month that Minister Vijayavargiya has commended the veteran Congress leader.
Previously, during a special one-day Assembly session, the BJP leader stated that Digvijaya Singh consistently supported the populace, irrespective of party affiliation.
Singh's recommendations on learning from the RSS-BJP dynamic through a social media post, shared just a day before the Congress foundation day on December 27, ignited a political uproar.
In his post, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh lauded the RSS-BJP partnership by referencing an old photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani.
"I stumbled upon this picture. It is quite remarkable. A grassroots RSS volunteer and a Jan Sangh and BJP worker, seated on the floor at the feet of leaders, became the Chief Minister of a state and the Prime Minister of the nation. This illustrates the strength of organization. Jai Siya Ram," Singh stated.
However, the seasoned Congress leader later clarified that he opposes the RSS and PM Modi's ideologies and solely praised the Sangh.
