The government of Madhya Pradesh, after a review session led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, has unveiled the comprehensive schedule of events that will include a blend of religious, cultural, and trade activities throughout this grand celebration.
The festivities will kick off on February 15 with the inauguration of various Shivratri fairs, the Kalash Yatra, and a musical performance titled ‘Shivoham’ featuring a collective of esteemed artists. Noteworthy performances by national and international theatrical talents are slated to occur during the Vikram Theatre Festival from February 16 to 25.
From February 26 to 28, the agenda encompasses an international history conclave, a puppet festival, and a research symposium. Furthermore, an intellectual gathering focusing on justice in the era of Samrat Vikramaditya will be held from February 28 to March 1, followed by an all-India poets' conference on March 7.
The extensive schedule also features a global festival of mythological films attracting entries from over 20 countries, the Veda Antakshari, and a sunrise worship ceremony at Ramghat, Dutt Akhara, coinciding with Gudi Padwa.
The concluding day, March 19, will celebrate Varsh Pratipada and Srishti Aarambh Diwas, marking it as Ujjayini Gaurav Diwas.
According to government sources, the main events will take place along the banks of the Shipra River, featuring the presentation of the Samrat Vikramaditya Award, the launch of the Vikram Panchang 2082-83, and the second volume of Arsha Bharat, alongside a dance-drama titled Mahadev Ki Nadi Katha.
During the preparations, Chief Minister Yadav stressed the importance of showcasing a holistic representation of Samrat Vikramaditya's multifaceted contributions. He highlighted the necessity of educating the younger generation about these contributions to preserve the continuity of Indian knowledge systems and cultural heritage.
Moreover, he instructed that science colleges, engineering institutes, and polytechnic schools collaborate on events that emphasize the scientific contributions of Samrat Vikramaditya.
