New Delhi, Feb 15 (NationPress) A month-long celebration known as 'Vikramotsav', honoring Samrat Vikramaditya, is set to kick off in the sacred city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, starting on Sunday, February 15, and will run until March 19.

In a recent review meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government unveiled the comprehensive schedule of events, which will encompass religious, cultural, and trade activities throughout this grand festival.

The festivities will begin with the inauguration of the Shivratri fairs, alongside a Kalash Yatra and a captivating musical performance titled ‘Shivoham’ featuring a lineup of esteemed artists. The Vikram Theatre Festival will showcase national and international theatrical talents from February 16 to 25.

An international history conclave, a puppet festival, and a research symposium are scheduled between February 26 and 28. This will be followed by an intellectual conclave focused on justice during the reign of Samrat Vikramaditya from February 28 to March 1, culminating in an all-India poets’ conference on March 7.

The agenda also includes a unique international festival of mythological films with submissions from over 20 countries, along with Veda Antakshari and sunrise worship at Ramghat, Dutt Akhara, coinciding with Gudi Padwa.

The event will conclude on March 19, recognized as Ujjayini Gaurav Diwas, celebrating Varsh Pratipada and Srishti Aarambh Diwas.

According to the government, the main festivities will take place along the banks of the Shipra River, featuring the presentation of the Samrat Vikramaditya Award, the launch of the Vikram Panchang 2082-83, and the second edition of Arsha Bharat, along with a dance-drama titled Mahadev Ki Nadi Katha.
