New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) The Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, paid a visit to President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday, exchanging heartfelt New Year wishes.
In his message, Radhakrishnan also wished the citizens a happy New Year, stating, “Warm greetings and best wishes to everyone on the New Year 2026. May the year ahead bring peace, good health, happiness, and prosperity to all, and strengthen our collective resolve to build a stronger and developed India.” This sentiment was shared on social media.
Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the nation with similar warm wishes for the New Year, emphasizing peace and societal prosperity.
In his post on X, PM Modi expressed, “Wishing everyone a wonderful 2026! May the year ahead bring good health and prosperity, with success in your efforts and fulfilment in all that you do. Praying for peace and happiness in our society.”
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also took the opportunity to extend his greetings, particularly to farmers, workers, and women, including the ‘Lakhpati Didis’.
He noted that under PM Modi's leadership, the government is dedicated to constructing a solid foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by empowering rural areas, the poor, farmers, workers, youth, and women.
Chouhan emphasized that in the upcoming year, efforts would be intensified to boost agricultural output, raise farmers' incomes, and enhance rural infrastructure.
He stated, “Farmers are the food providers of the nation, while workers and labourers are the backbone of India’s economy, making their prosperity the government’s utmost priority.”
Additionally, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her New Year wishes on social media, stating, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of you on the Anglo New Year. May this auspicious occasion of the New Year bring a message of new hope, positive energy, and sustained progress into the life of every citizen of Delhi.”
Gupta expressed wishes for happiness, prosperity, and good health for the citizens, adding, “May this New Year be auspicious, joyful, and filled with achievements for all of you.”
She reaffirmed her commitment to serving Delhi and public welfare, stating that this year's initiatives will be approached with renewed energy and determination. According to her, the essential strength of Delhi, which continues to progress towards development and effective governance, is the trust and active involvement of its citizens.
