New Delhi, Feb 7 (NationPress) The e-commerce giant Amazon and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) have reaffirmed their alliance to assist small enterprises in India in increasing their presence in international markets through e-commerce, aiming to facilitate $200-300 billion in exports from India by 2030.

This partnership, which enhances their original agreement from November 2023, will concentrate on providing Indian MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) with the necessary skills and resources to excel in online exports.

As part of this initiative, Amazon and DGFT will conduct specialized training sessions in 47 districts across the nation. They will also incorporate Amazon’s Export Navigator tool within DGFT’s Trade Connect portal to simplify the exporting process for businesses.

Moreover, new export communities will be established as local offline networks where MSMEs can interact with industry professionals, government agencies, and successful exporters.

“These export communities will be easily accessible for businesses that are currently selling through e-commerce or those that are looking to commence,” stated Amazon.

The organization further mentioned that the objective is to establish a support system where small businesses can receive the guidance they require to enhance their export activities.

The initiative will also provide workshops, networking prospects, and practical advice on selecting suitable products and broadening export operations.

By merging Amazon’s international e-commerce expertise with DGFT’s local insights, the program seeks to unlock new avenues for Indian businesses in global markets.

“This collaboration has already assisted over 3,000 MSMEs, and we anticipate it will greatly contribute to India’s export growth,” remarked Santosh Sarangi, Additional Secretary and Director General of DGFT.

In the inaugural year of their partnership, DGFT and Amazon organized a series of e-commerce export promotion events across 20 districts in India.

These events, conducted between December 2023 and December 2024, provided guidance to over 3,000 MSMEs regarding e-commerce exports and the process of selling on Amazon global marketplaces.
