New Delhi, June 28 (NationPress) The government is establishing a revolutionary export ecosystem that prioritizes digital innovation, logistics support, and inclusivity for MSMEs, stated Moin Afaque, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), on Saturday.
While addressing the India SME Forum’s ‘MSME Day Conclave 2025’, he emphasized the creation of resilient infrastructures for MSME e-commerce exports, highlighting that the forthcoming e-commerce export hubs will draw inspiration from global best practices and serve as comprehensive zones for logistics, certification, and regulatory assistance.
“With five pilot hubs already sanctioned and additional ones on the horizon, our goal is to expand this model nationwide,” he remarked to the audience.
The event highlighted the critical need for digital transformation, improved export readiness, and robust trade facilitation to unlock the immense potential of Indian small businesses on the global stage, aiming to bridge market access gaps for Indian MSMEs to compete internationally.
“As global supply chains evolve, India is positioning itself as a reliable alternative. This presents a unique opportunity for MSMEs to expand internationally, particularly through e-commerce,” remarked Vinod Kumar, President of the India SME Forum.
“Consumers are opting for Indian goods even at 5–7% higher prices due to the trust and reliability we provide. With over 45 countries facilitating market access, e-commerce exports are rapidly becoming a significant growth driver. This is India’s moment, and MSMEs are at the forefront,” he added.
A key highlight of the conclave was the National MSME Impact Awards 2025, which celebrated outstanding contributions from state governments, financial institutions, and service providers who have exceeded traditional mandates to effect systemic change and establish inclusive support frameworks for MSMEs.
Among the winners were Bank of Baroda for Public Sector Bank and HDFC Bank for Private Sector Bank. Amazon clinched gold in both Best Exports Platform and Best E-Marketplace categories, while Microsoft topped the Technology Providers segment, and Google led the Digital Solutions category.
DHL excelled in the Logistics Solutions category, and New India Assurance was awarded Best Insurance Provider, as reported by the India SME Forum.
