Early-career professionals recorded the steepest climb, reporting average salary growth of 155 per cent after acquiring AI skills. Senior professionals are also benefiting — VPs, CXOs, and engineering leaders reported the highest post-upskilling salaries, averaging ₹33 lakh per annum.
Women are emerging as significant beneficiaries of this shift. Female professionals reported an average salary jump of 145 per cent after transitioning into AI-enabled roles, while female quality assurance (QA) engineers recorded the most dramatic gains at 574 per cent — the highest of any tracked cohort in the report.
AI Moves Beyond Engineering
One of the report's most striking findings is the broadening of AI's career footprint. Nearly 50 per cent of AI-enabled career outcomes now extend into leadership, consulting, operations, human resources, marketing, finance, and academia — well beyond the conventional software and engineering pipeline. This comes amid growing employer demand for AI-literate professionals across business functions, not just technical departments.
Reinforcing this trend, nearly 25 per cent of learners on the platform now come from non-technical backgrounds, up from earlier cohorts where engineering graduates dominated enrolments. Consulting-related outcomes have nearly doubled, rising from 3.1 per cent at entry level to 5.65 per cent of overall professional outcomes.
Top Roles and City-Wise Distribution
Among specific career outcomes, software engineer remained the most common AI-enabled role, accounting for 34.77 per cent of outcomes, followed by engineering leadership at 17.51 per cent. Bengaluru continues to anchor India's AI talent ecosystem, contributing 19 per cent of learners, trailed by Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai.
A notable geographic shift is also underway: nearly one in five AI learners now hails from Tier-II cities, including Lucknow, Jaipur, Patna, Indore, Coimbatore, and Nagpur — suggesting that AI upskilling is beginning to democratise high-income career pathways beyond metro centres.
