Bengaluru leads India's GCC leadership with 15,000+ active professionals
Bengaluru has emerged as India's top Global Capability Centre (GCC) leadership hub, with an active leadership pool of over 15,000 professionals, high retention rates, and a net-positive movement of talent, according to a report released on Wednesday, 29 April 2025. The findings, published by staffing firm Xpheno Research, indicate that global enterprises are increasingly choosing India's GCC route for specialised capabilities and leadership quality — not just cost savings.
Key Leadership Metrics
The report highlights that Bengaluru's overall leadership density in its GCC workforce stands at 1:50, meaning one in every 50 professionals holds a leadership role. Mid-level and senior leadership densities are recorded at 1:85 and 1:180 respectively, while the total leadership pool has registered 8 per cent annual net growth.
Sustainability indicators are equally strong. The median tenure for GCC leaders in the city is 6.5 years, and net movement over the past 12 months was positive — with 560 leaders moving in against 390 moving out, reflecting a healthy inward pull for senior talent.
Why Bengaluru, and Why Now
Kamal Karanth, Co-founder of Xpheno, said the city's appeal has moved well beyond traditional cost advantages.
