New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) The indigenous digital payments platform BHIM Payments App (BHIM) has officially initiated its “Garv Se Swadeshi” campaign, unveiling a cashback incentive to motivate new users across the nation to embrace digital payments.
As BHIM approaches its 10th anniversary later this month, the platform is celebrating this milestone by offering a straightforward Rs 20 cashback on any transaction of Rs 20 or greater for newly registered users, as stated in a press release.
This campaign is designed to reduce barriers for first-time users and enhance the adoption of digital payments among various segments of society, according to the platform.
Developed by NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), the BHIM app allows users to manage everyday expenses like groceries, transportation, utility bills, and more, enabling them to earn up to Rs 300 cashback monthly on qualifying transactions.
“BHIM embodies the vision of a self-reliant India and reflects the daily payment preferences of Indians. The ‘Garv Se Swadeshi’ initiative is founded on the principle that a nationally developed payment platform should cater to the genuine needs of Indian users,” stated Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO of NBSL.
“We aim to onboard first-time users into digital payments and assist them in establishing sustainable payment habits for their daily requirements,” she added.
The updated BHIM app, which was launched earlier this year, supports more than 15 Indian languages, features an ad-free interface, and is optimized for areas with low connectivity.
Additionally, it has introduced exciting features such as Split Expenses, Family Mode, Spend Analytics, Action Needed, and UPI Circle.
The UPI Circle Full Delegation feature, introduced last November, enables users to allow trusted individuals—like family members or staff—to make UPI payments directly from their account up to a specified monthly limit.
According to a recent report by the IMF, UPI now accounts for nearly 49% of all global real-time digital payment transactions, surpassing prominent systems in nations like Brazil, Thailand, China, and South Korea.
