Bhopal, March 12 (NationPress) The BJP government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, revealed its projected state Budget of Rs 4.21 lakh crore, describing it as a vision document for 'Viksit (developed) Madhya Pradesh' on Wednesday. In contrast, the Opposition Congress branded it as a 'karz ka budget' (debt budget).

The Congress party strategically criticized the Madhya Pradesh government's Budget both inside and outside the Assembly premises.

Congress MLAs, under the leadership of the Leader of Opposition (LoP), Umang Singhar, protested against the state Budget by placing bundles covered in black cloth over their heads at the Assembly grounds.

State Congress President Jitu Patwari and other prominent party figures, including former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, contended that the BJP government's budget allows for an increase in the borrowing limit for future loans.

"On the day the Madhya Pradesh government unveiled its Budget, it borrowed Rs 5,000 in loans. The BJP has announced a Budget increase to facilitate further borrowing. This Budget lacks significant provisions for tribals and unemployed youths," Patwari stated.

Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath also lambasted the state Budget, asserting that the Rs 4.2 lakh crore Budget presented in the Assembly mirrors the final debt of Madhya Pradesh, which stands close to Rs 4 lakh crore.

The Congress leader further expressed that the citizens of Madhya Pradesh had anticipated an enhancement in the monthly financial support for women under the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' from Rs 1,250 to Rs 3,000 per month.

"Not only has there been no increase, but the number of women beneficiaries under the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' has also diminished. This Budget corresponds to the financial debt of Madhya Pradesh. It fails to present any tangible measures to alleviate the state's financial burden," Kamal Nath added.

Presenting the second annual Budget of the Madhya Pradesh government, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, who also serves as the state's Finance Minister, remarked that the Budget aims to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Developed India 2047'.

"This Budget serves as a framework to actualize the 'GYAN' (Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata and Nari) mantra of PM Modi in the context of Madhya Pradesh. It will promote the happiness and prosperity of villages, the poor, youth, food providers, women, and farmers," Devda added.
