All senior officials from the Ministry and DGCA participated in a high-level review meeting aimed at providing a comprehensive analysis of airport operations, airline responsiveness, and the quality of services available to affected passengers, he noted.
IndiGo's CEO Pieter Elbers reported on Tuesday that the airline's operations have begun to stabilize following several days of significant flight disruptions that left many travelers stranded at major airports nationwide. The low-cost carrier's aircraft were grounded due to a critical pilot shortage linked to new flight duty limitation regulations.
In a statement on X, Elbers affirmed that IndiGo is back on track, with restoration efforts being implemented on a war footing.
He indicated that the airline has successfully restored its complete network of 138 destinations and is now conducting over 1,800 flights daily. Elbers stated, "Our operations are completely stabilized as of December 9."
He also mentioned that IndiGo has initiated an internal review to understand the factors that led to the recent crisis, indicating a deeper examination of processes and resource management.
