Samsung Enhances Privacy Features on Galaxy S26 Series Amid Rising AI Usage in India
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The daily utilization of AI by Indian consumers ranks among the highest globally, stated JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, on Tuesday. He highlighted that the privacy features of the new Galaxy S26 series have been enhanced in light of the fact that 'we are now in the AI era.'
Recently, Samsung launched its latest flagship device, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the innovative Privacy Display feature has garnered widespread appreciation within the tech community.
"India holds a pivotal position in Samsung's global innovation framework. Our teams from the R&D hubs in Bengaluru and Noida have made remarkable strides in the creation of the Galaxy S26 series," Park remarked.
He added, "The Galaxy S26 series is being produced at Samsung's facility in Noida, India."
Park emphasized that this industry-first feature marks a significant advancement in smartphone privacy.
"In the AI era, the privacy on the Galaxy S26 series has been improved. Unlike third-party filters, the Privacy Display is directly integrated into the device's display, enhancing the user experience while reducing visibility from side angles. Users can customize which areas of the screen to protect and when to activate it, making privacy management feel effortless and user-friendly," he elaborated.
The Galaxy S26 series further boosts on-device privacy through personal context processing, ensuring that sensitive information remains solely on the device.
Even with the array of AI agents available in the S26 series, users maintain complete control over how and when their personal data is shared, ensuring total autonomy over their information.
“When engaging with partner AI agents via Samsung applications such as Samsung Note, Calendar, Gallery, Reminder, and Clock, users have the power to decide whether their data is utilized to train partner models or for targeted advertising,” Park stated.
Moreover, Privacy Alerts utilize intelligent monitoring to inform users proactively if apps seek access to important data or device controls, including precise location, call logs, or contacts, thereby enhancing user control over security permissions.
“We guarantee that AI adheres to your commands. It is crucial to prevent it from operating beyond your control and generating unauthorized content,” he asserted.
The Galaxy S26 series, being Samsung's third generation of AI-enabled smartphones, integrates AI agents that offer advanced contextual awareness and proactive suggestions to streamline daily tasks. Park noted that multiple AI agents are active on the Galaxy S26, with access to personal data strictly limited to what is necessary for task completion.
“All AI functionalities on Galaxy devices operate within Samsung's Knox security ecosystem, which enforces consistent technical and policy protections across the device—even when involving partner services. Personal data is safeguarded on-device, shared only as needed, and remains excluded from advertising usage,” he concluded.
The Galaxy S26 series is currently available for pre-order in India through major online and retail channels. The pricing starts at Rs 1,39,999 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Rs 1,19,999 for the Galaxy S26+, and the base variant of the S26 begins at Rs 87,999.
