New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) The online trading platform Groww announced on Monday that a number of its users experienced a temporary discrepancy in stock prices, which has since been addressed. Earlier in the day, this technical glitch resulted in an inaccurate display of users' investment values. Reports indicated some users saw their investments, such as Rs 1,000, incorrectly shown as Rs 1,00,000, creating confusion.
The glitch caused users' profits to appear as if they had skyrocketed by over 10,000 percent, momentarily transforming some into millionaires while leaving others in financial distress.
“Several of our users noted discrepancies in stock pricing. This was a temporary issue and has been rectified,” Groww stated in a message on the X social media platform.
The company added that for clients whose Good Till Triggered (GTT) orders were impacted, “the Groww support team is reaching out to provide resolutions.”
“DM us on @groww_cs if you encountered this issue,” the online trading service urged.
The problem was highlighted as numerous users took to social media to share their experiences.
“Some of my GTT orders were executed due to your @_groww pricing discrepancies. I have screenshots of the past and present pricing; please address this issue promptly,” shared one affected user.
Another user commented: “We will switch to another trading platform if our losses are not compensated.”
The erroneous price displays caused major disruptions, leading several users to make trading decisions based on incorrect information, resulting in frustration and financial setbacks for those who acted on the misleading data.
“Seriously @_groww? I saw a wild Rs 2.8L surge and sold thinking I hit the jackpot—only to find it was just a glitch. Now I can't even place a buy order correctly because the amounts are all messed up,” added another Groww user, expressing that he “lost real money due to your technical issue.”
