New Delhi, Aug 11 (NationPress) From local to global, India is set to not only manufacture within its borders but also produce for the international market, with Jabalpur poised to be a central player in this evolution, stated Union Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday.

He remarked, “The government and industry are intertwined. By collaborating, we can transform the dreams of our youth into tangible outcomes,” as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) formalized strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent global technology firms.

In a move to develop an industry-ready skilled workforce, BSNL entered into key partnerships with four international tech leaders: Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks India.

Scindia characterized this initiative as a pivotal moment in cultivating a skilled and future-oriented telecom workforce through the cooperation of BSNL and leading global technology entities.

“Supported by industry giants like Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, Qualcomm, and BSNL, this program is expected to train over 2,000 students each year, with initial investments surpassing Rs 1 crore,” the minister added.

These partnerships are designed to boost India’s digital transformation and fortify the skilling ecosystem, facilitating advanced training programs in 5G, AI/ML, networking, and digital technologies at BSNL’s principal training center, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur.

“The educational offerings—spanning from short two-week modules to intensive 84-hour courses—are geared towards establishing Jabalpur as a center for leading-edge technology education,” the minister emphasized.

This development is part of a larger initiative by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, aiming to set up a Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre (TIRTC) at BRBRAITT.

Envisioned as a national center driven by industry needs, the TIRTC will prioritize the cultivation of telecom-specific R&D talent and a future-ready workforce—aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
