New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) India has made remarkable strides by achieving three Guinness World Records under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, as announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.
This accomplishment underscores the nation's unwavering dedication to preventive healthcare and the well-being of women.
The first record was set for the highest number of individuals registering for a healthcare platform in a month, surpassing 3.21 crore registrations.
The second achievement involved the most participants signing up for breast cancer screening online in a single week, with over 9.94 lakh participants.
The third record recognized the highest number of individuals registering for vital signs screening online at the state level within a week, exceeding 1.25 lakh participants.
Initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this campaign spanned from September 17 to October 2, aligning with Poshan Maah.
The initiative is committed to enhancing the health and nutrition of women, adolescent girls, and children while advocating for early disease detection and accessibility to essential health services.
Moreover, it seeks to empower families to adopt healthier lifestyles, fostering a stronger and more resilient India.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of women in nation-building, stating, “Our mothers and sisters are the foundation of our nation’s progress. If a mother is healthy, the whole family stays healthy.”
The campaign achieved extraordinary outreach, reaching every district across the country. It organized over 19.7 lakh health camps, attracting more than 11 crore people through various healthcare platforms.
Over 20 ministries, along with central government institutes, medical colleges, and private organizations, collaborated in this national effort. Members of Parliament, MLAs, and officials from diverse departments also contributed, exemplifying a true “whole-of-government” approach.
Community involvement was remarkable, with over 5 lakh Panchayati Raj representatives, 1.14 crore students, 94 lakh self-help group members, and 5 lakh community platform members participating, making it one of the largest public health movements globally.
The campaign’s health impact has been profound, encompassing 1.78 crore hypertension screenings, 1.73 crore diabetes tests, 69.5 lakh oral cancer screenings, and 62.6 lakh antenatal care check-ups.
In addition, 1.43 crore vaccine doses were administered, and 1.51 crore anaemia tests were conducted. Over 85.9 lakh women were screened for tuberculosis, 10.2 lakh for sickle cell disease, and more than 2.14 crore people participated in counseling and wellness sessions.
The initiative also recorded over 2.68 lakh Nikshay Mitras, supported by My Bharat volunteers, to bolster India’s fight against tuberculosis.
