New Delhi, April 6 (NationPress) The collaborative research and development program between India and the UK is pivotal in speeding up the creation of advanced technologies that are essential for enhancing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This will play a significant role in fostering the rapid uptake of electric mobility and building a future-ready ecosystem in India, as highlighted by a senior government official on Monday.

Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary of the Technology Development Board, made this statement following an agreement with Scharge Private Limited to develop a cutting-edge electric vehicle charging solution tailored for commercial fleet and depot operations within the framework of the India–UK Collaborative R&D Programme, according to an official announcement.

As part of this partnership, Scharge Private Limited, a rising Indian EV technology firm, is set to create an innovative EV charger charge controller featuring a patented automated cable management system sourced from the UK-based Albright Product Design Limited.

This integrated approach aims to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and user-friendliness in high-demand EV charging environments.

The solution features a motorized overhead cable management system designed particularly for fleet applications, facilitating streamlined charging operations by decreasing manual handling, minimizing cable wear, and improving user convenience.

The system is fully compatible with existing AC Type-2 EV chargers, with the goal of boosting charging turnaround time while ensuring a safe and organized infrastructure in depot settings.

By addressing issues like cable management, equipment protection, and workflow optimization, this technology is anticipated to significantly improve the efficiency of EV charging depots.

Furthermore, it contributes to elevated safety standards by mitigating risks associated with cable damage, vandalism, and operational hazards.

Scharge Pvt Limited specializes in developing advanced power electronics and smart charging systems, and through this project, the company aims to bolster indigenous capabilities in EV charging technologies while promoting scalable and sustainable infrastructure for the expanding electric mobility sector, the statement emphasized.
