New Delhi, Feb 7 (NationPress) India is poised to not only become a major hub for civil aviation but also a significant center for aircraft component manufacturing, according to Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, who spoke on Friday.

Leading a high-level meeting aimed at reviewing and promoting aircraft component manufacturing in the nation, the minister explored a unified national strategy to enhance India’s position as a global aerospace center.

The discussions focused on bolstering domestic production and improving India’s international competitiveness in aircraft component manufacturing.

Driven by strategic partnerships with top global aerospace companies and the rising demand for air travel, India’s aircraft component manufacturing sector is seeing remarkable growth.

Notable international Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are increasingly procuring components from India, highlighting the superior quality and reliability of our domestic industry.

“Motivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in the aerospace sector, I can confidently assert that we are already in a commendable position within the global civil aviation landscape, but our aim now is to take the lead,” Naidu stated.

It is crucial to establish a comprehensive ecosystem — including skill development, design, manufacturing, maintenance, certification, and knowledge sharing — through close cooperation among various ministries, departments, and the industry, the minister emphasized.

“With our vast pool of talent and resources, along with valuable industry insights, we can formulate a cohesive national roadmap that transforms these prospects into tangible, strategic results,” he noted.

The minister reassured industry stakeholders of the government's steadfast commitment to creating a thorough and inclusive roadmap.

He outlined a dual strategy aiming to not only boost indigenous aircraft component manufacturing through the supply chain network of our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) but also to provide enhanced international market access for Indian component OEMs.
