New Delhi, May 21 (NationPress) The government has announced a significant investment of Rs 2,000 crore under the PM E-Drive scheme, aimed at facilitating the establishment of around 72,000 EV public charging stations nationwide, as stated on Wednesday.
These charging stations will be strategically located along 50 national highway corridors and in high-traffic areas such as metro cities, toll plazas, railway stations, airports, fuel outlets, and state highways, according to the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, led an inter-ministerial meeting to expedite the rollout of EV charging infrastructure under the PM E-Drive initiative.
