Bengaluru, July 31 (NationPress) The government of Karnataka is extending a warm welcome to IT and software firms relocating from Maharashtra, assuring them of comprehensive support, stated Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Thursday.
Shivakumar made this announcement while addressing the media after attending the Quantum Summit at Manyata Tech Park in the city.
“We are excited to have IT companies moving from Maharashtra to Karnataka. We are fully equipped to provide all essential infrastructure, including technology and electricity,” Shivakumar, who also leads the state Congress, remarked.
“Just four days ago, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister mentioned the shift of IT companies from Pune to Bengaluru. I appreciate that comment. Our competition is not merely with other Indian states, but on a global scale,” he added.
“Maharashtra is undoubtedly a significant player in the IT industry. Pune's Hinjewadi stands as a prominent IT center. Nevertheless, we welcome and support any firm that opts to make our state their home,” he noted.
When questioned about the protest against alleged voter fraud in Bengaluru, he responded: “Why are others so concerned about our political views? We owe no explanation to them. Our accountability lies solely with the people of Karnataka.
“During the Assembly elections, the BJP perpetrated fraud through the misuse of the Chilume Trust. Our leaders are voicing facts based on investigations. Rahul Gandhi is visiting the state not with a political agenda but to inform the public. We must safeguard democracy. The Election Commission should not serve as a tool for any political party,” emphasized Shivakumar.
Regarding the purpose of Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming event, he stated: “Our objective is to inform the public about the BJP’s electoral fraud. The decision on whether to hold a protest or rally will be made in a meeting with the party’s General Secretaries.”
“We need to reveal how the BJP exploited the Election Commission for electoral misconduct both in Karnataka and nationwide. The party has conducted extensive research on this. However, due to court orders and government protocols concerning crowd gatherings, the format of the protest will be discussed,” he added.
When asked about the dispute surrounding the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) President’s role, he replied: “I will not comment on that. The presidency issue is a fabrication by the media. The association’s officials will manage it.”
Shivakumar’s brother, D.K. Suresh, is making significant efforts to become the KMF chief. However, PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi, a close ally of CM Siddaramaiah, wishes to appoint his own candidate to the KMF.
