LinkedIn Explores AI Training Roles with Pay up to Rs 14,000 per Hour
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) The Microsoft-owned platform LinkedIn is piloting an innovative "AI labor marketplace" that might provide compensation of up to Rs 14,000 or $150 per hour for individuals who assist in training AI chatbots, as reported by Business Insider.
According to the report, LinkedIn is currently in the initial testing phase and has advertised more than a dozen positions for AI trainers. These roles involve evaluating AI model responses, identifying errors, and engaging in "red teaming" activities to uncover vulnerabilities in the systems.
Job vacancies are diverse, covering fields like coding, finance, healthcare, and linguistics, with hourly wages varying from Rs 3,700 to Rs 14,000 based on the individual's skill level.
Positions for senior software engineer trainers offer the highest remuneration, while specialists in Excel, finance, nursing, or linguistics for Germanic and Nordic languages could earn approximately Rs 9,300 per hour, as per the findings.
For red-teaming roles aimed at testing the resilience of AI systems, the pay ranges from Rs 3,700 to Rs 4,600 per hour.
The report further indicates that LinkedIn is encouraging users to show their interest in these positions through prompts on its platform, with notifications for these job openings being rolled out in the US. In India, however, the platform states, "We’re gradually making this experience available," according to the report.
Applicants are required to validate their profiles using a government ID, complete an AI-driven screening conversation regarding their skills and experience, and finish specific project tasks as part of their application.
LinkedIn assesses candidates by utilizing their profile data, including education, licenses, and work history.
This job initiative positions LinkedIn in direct competition with AI training startups such as Mercor and Surge AI, which connect human experts with AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic to refine their models.
In a recent announcement, LinkedIn revealed that around 79 percent of Indian small and medium businesses (SMBs) prefer a unified, integrated platform over multiple standalone tools, unveiling plans to introduce Premium All-in-One — a comprehensive, AI-powered solution.
