New Delhi, June 25 (NationPress) The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India are increasingly adopting technology to improve business outcomes, with 67 percent demonstrating digital readiness across both core and advanced technologies, as per a report published on Wednesday.
The report from CyberMedia Research (CMR) indicates that two out of three MSMEs in India are now digitally equipped, utilizing core technologies such as ERP, CRM, and cloud solutions, alongside advanced technologies like AI, IoT, and data analytics.
According to the report, this suggests a developing digital ecosystem among Indian MSMEs.
Additionally, 62 percent of these enterprises actively seek digital advisory services through MSME-focused online communities, forums, and professional networks. Furthermore, 43 percent of MSMEs claim proficiency in essential digital tools, such as cloud computing, ERP, and CRM systems.
About 23 percent have advanced up the digital value chain by adopting more sophisticated technologies like AI, IoT, and analytics.
The report also states that nearly 59 percent depend on platforms like LinkedIn, X, and WhatsApp for business news, peer learning, and industry insights.
“India's digital momentum is being transformed by an expanding base of MSMEs leveraging technology to enhance competitiveness and innovation. While there are encouraging signs of digital maturity, a significant portion still faces ongoing challenges, particularly in terms of awareness, skills, and cybersecurity,” stated Prabhu Ram, VP- Industry Research Group (IRG), CMR.
He noted that MSMEs are increasingly turning to structured, accessible advisory platforms to close this gap.
According to the research findings, 70 percent of digitally aware MSMEs actively seek digital advisory support.
MSMEs are pivotal in achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047, making it the perfect time to discuss the collaboration between Industry and MSMEs, celebrating their role in fulfilling India’s aspirations.
India has steadily progressed from being the 10th largest economy a decade ago to currently being the 4th largest. The nation holds immense potential with approximately 60 million enterprises.
