New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Maruti Suzuki India Limited, recognized as the largest automobile manufacturer in the nation, announced on Monday that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited. This partnership aims to create vehicle service centers at selected IOCL fuel retail stations across the country.
According to the car manufacturer, customers will have access to routine maintenance, minor repairs, and comprehensive service options at these facilities, thereby simplifying vehicle upkeep and making it more convenient for owners.
The Indian Oil Corporation, a Maharatna company, operates a vast network of 41,000 fuel stations. This new agreement will bring essential services closer to consumers utilizing locations that are frequently accessed, as stated in the release.
This initiative is expected to further enhance Maruti Suzuki’s service infrastructure, which already boasts over 5,780 service outlets in 2,882 cities across India.
“Our objective is to streamline car servicing for our customers. By collaborating with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, a trusted Maharatna entity, we will utilize their extensive network to provide after-sales services at locations that are part of our customers' daily routines,” commented Ram Suresh Akella, Executive Officer (Service) at Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
“Partnering with Maruti Suzuki allows us to integrate top-tier automotive maintenance with our energy solutions,” remarked Saumitra P. Srivastava, Director (Marketing) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
In addition, Maruti Suzuki India’s board has approved a Rs 4,960-crore initiative for land acquisition aimed at increasing its manufacturing capacity in Gujarat.
This land acquisition pertains to expanding production capabilities at the Khoraj Industrial Estate from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, with the anticipated capacity increase reaching up to 1 million units, according to the company’s exchange filing.
In 2025, the car manufacturer achieved a remarkable milestone, producing over 22.55 lakh vehicles—the highest output recorded in a calendar year. This marks the second consecutive year that Maruti Suzuki India has surpassed the 20 lakh unit threshold in annual production, which includes vehicles designated for domestic sales, exports, and OEM supplies.
