Patna, March 3 (NationPress) Following the presentation of the Rs 3.17 lakh crore Budget for the financial year 2025-26 by Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary, NDA leaders have praised it as a "visionary initiative" for the state's advancement.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha remarked, "The Budget embodies both vision and confidence in Bihar's progression."
He emphasized that the NDA administration has successfully increased the state's Budget 11 times over the past two decades, referring to it as a "significant achievement".
"This Budget will transform challenges into opportunities and reinforce the commitment of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar towards developing Bihar. It serves as a blueprint for both current and future progress of the state," Deputy CM Sinha stated.
Dilip Jaiswal, the State BJP President, added, "This Budget is a major advantage for the agricultural sector and farmers. A notable feature is the proposed Rs 1,289 crore scheme aimed at modernizing and enhancing 21 agricultural production market committees, along with cold storage and other crucial facilities."
Neeraj Kumar, JD-U MLC and Spokesperson, expressed, "This Budget is crafted with a forward-looking vision, reflecting an increase of Rs 38,000 crore compared to last year."
"It is centered around women, youth, and farmers, addressing health, education, agriculture, irrigation, and road transport. A total of Rs 1,000 crore is allocated for the Student Credit Card scheme, benefiting many students. Since 2004-05, Bihar's Budget has surged 13.27 times (from ₹23,885 crore to Rs 3.17 lakh crore in 2025-26). Education alone receives Rs 60,000 crore, which is 2.5 times the total of the 2004 Budget," Kumar elaborated.
The Rs 3.17 lakh crore allocated for the 2025-26 Budget in Bihar has ignited political discussions, with NDA representatives commending it as a progressive and inclusive budget, while the Opposition has criticized it for lacking substantial impact.
Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnea, dismissed this Budget as mere eyewash and accused it of regional bias.
"This Budget overlooks the Kosi-Seemanchal region, which played a crucial role in Nitish Kumar's government formation in 2020. With a population of four crore in the region, a minimum of Rs 1.05 lakh crore should have been allocated, yet it has been disregarded. There is no actionable plan for Bihar's innovative development," Yadav stated.
"Other states offer monthly financial support to women, but Bihar's Budget lacks provisions for women's economic empowerment," he continued.
NDA leaders maintain that this Budget will bolster Bihar's economy, enhance agriculture, and create new opportunities, marking a strategic milestone ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
The political discourse between the ruling NDA and the Opposition surrounding the Budget is anticipated to escalate in the forthcoming days.
