Patna, Feb 3 (NationPress) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his admiration for the Bihar Budget 2026–27, unveiled by Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, asserting that it symbolizes the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a developed Bihar through inclusive and justice-driven growth.
While addressing the budget in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister shared a post on X, highlighting that the budget is grounded in the principle of “development with justice” and caters to the needs of all societal segments, including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and women.
“The state budget for 2026–27 is extensive, inclusive, and focused on development. It encompasses all sectors and every segment of society. This year’s budget surpasses Rs 3.47 lakh crore, which is over Rs 30,000 crore more than last year's allocation. Bihar’s growth rate is anticipated to reach 14.9 per cent for the financial year 2026–27,” Kumar noted.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the budget will significantly aid in executing the government’s Seven Resolves–3 initiative.
He reaffirmed the administration’s pledge to generate employment for 1 crore youth over the next five years, indicating that this process has already commenced through prudent financial strategies.
He pointed out that under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, there is a provision to allocate Rs 2 lakh in financial support to one woman from each household to foster employment and self-sufficiency.
“This budget aims to ensure opportunities for every family, skill development for every young person, and empowerment of women. Industry is being advanced in the state, and special measures have been implemented to bolster progress in education, health, and agriculture,” the Chief Minister stated.
Nitish Kumar stressed that with effective management of the state’s fiscal resources, Bihar’s development will accelerate further.
He also recognized the assistance of the central government in Bihar’s developmental journey.
“In the coming years, Bihar will join the ranks of the most developed states in the nation,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also commended the budget, stating it injects fresh momentum into Bihar’s development.
“With a renewed impetus towards a developed Bihar, the state budget has nearly reached Rs 3.5 lakh crore. The NDA government has propelled Bihar into a new trajectory, and development is taking on a new identity,” Choudhary remarked.
