Patna, Feb 1 (NationPress) Following the unveiling of the Union Budget in Parliament, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his approval of the budget, labeling it as progressive, forward-looking, and advantageous for Bihar's long-term growth.
In a message shared on his official X account, the Chief Minister stated, "The Union Budget is a positive development that is welcomed. This budget, introduced by the central government, aligns with the vision of creating a developed India. Emphasizing major infrastructure initiatives, Nitish Kumar mentioned that the plan to construct seven high-speed rail corridors nationwide would significantly benefit Bihar.
"The Varanasi-Siliguri high-speed rail corridor will offer tremendous advantages to Bihar," he remarked.
The Chief Minister also endorsed the announcement of 20 new national waterways, pointing out that ship repair facilities in Patna and Varanasi would enhance inland water transport.
"The development of waterways will benefit numerous cities in Bihar, ease the export of state products, and stimulate trade and commercial activities," he added.
Regarding industrial advancement and job creation, Kumar highlighted the budget's plans to establish large textile parks, the Mahatma Gandhi Self-Employment Scheme, and an investment of Rs 40,000 crore in the semiconductor industry, all of which are expected to create new employment opportunities.
"These measures will generate jobs for youth across the nation, including in Bihar, and will further propel economic growth," he stated.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the budget's particular emphasis on Purvoday states and the North-Eastern region, asserting that it would foster industrial investment, infrastructure development, and job creation in Bihar.
He mentioned that provisions for urban development would spur urbanization in the state, resulting in increased investment and job opportunities in urban areas.
Expressing support for the announcement of girls' hostels in every district, Nitish Kumar remarked that this initiative would significantly aid girls in pursuing higher education.
The Chief Minister conveyed his gratitude to the central leadership, stating, "I extend my thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting such a commendable budget."
