NHPC Collaborates with Global Green Growth Institute to Enhance Clean Energy Initiatives

New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) In a pivotal move aimed at promoting sustainable development and addressing climate change, the hydropower leader NHPC has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), as stated in an official release on Friday.
This partnership seeks to advance innovative clean energy solutions, with a particular emphasis on agrivoltaics, green hydrogen, and sustainable financing strategies. These initiatives form part of NHPC's R&D efforts aimed at tackling climate challenges while facilitating India’s shift towards a low-carbon economy, according to the statement.
Through this collaboration, NHPC and GGGI will jointly investigate cutting-edge technologies, merge renewable energy solutions with agricultural methodologies, and accelerate investments in green projects. This initiative is also in harmony with India’s wider climate objectives and its commitment to renewable energy as outlined in the Paris Agreement.
The MoU was formalized by V. R. Shrivastava, Executive Director of NHPC, and Soumya Prasad Garnaik, Country Head of GGGI, in the presence of Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) at NHPC, and D. K. Khare, Advisor at GGGI.
High-ranking officials from both organizations were also present at the signing ceremony held at NHPC's corporate office in Faridabad on Thursday.
During the occasion, Uttam Lal remarked, "This partnership signifies NHPC’s commitment to embracing innovative clean energy solutions and fostering sustainable development. With GGGI's expertise combined with NHPC's rich legacy in renewable energy, we are well-positioned to make significant contributions toward a greener future."
