Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, announced that the State Government is actively pursuing measures to fortify Rajasthan’s agricultural economy and boost agricultural productivity.
He emphasized that the government aims to empower farmers to embrace smart farming through cutting-edge technologies and to establish the state as a frontrunner in agricultural exports. To achieve this vision, the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet–2026 (GRAM) is scheduled to be held in the state next year.
During a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday, Sharma instructed officials to finalize all arrangements to ensure the event's success. The primary goal of this initiative is to set new standards in the agricultural domain through innovation and modern technology while attracting investment. He remarked that the farmers of Rajasthan would gain insights from the experiences and knowledge of agricultural experts from both India and overseas.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed all relevant departments—including Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Cooperation, and Irrigation—to collaborate closely for the effective execution of the event.
A departmental cluster should be established for this initiative, and preparations should be assessed at the Secretary level. Furthermore, he insisted that farmers who have excelled in the agricultural sector should be recognized at the event.
Sharma stressed the importance of prioritizing farmers' needs in every initiative, inviting experts, scientists, and technical specialists who employ advanced agricultural practices, water management techniques, and crop diversification methods from both India and abroad.
The Chief Minister proposed that this state-level event would span three days, expecting participation from over 50,000 farmers. He mentioned that the meet would serve as an international platform to highlight Rajasthan’s agricultural capabilities and would promote research, innovation, entrepreneurship, agricultural processing, and marketing in the sector.
He urged officials to ensure extensive publicity for the event to inform grassroots-level farmers about the program and related initiatives.
The Agritech Meet will feature exhibitions related to agriculture and animal husbandry, B2G and B2B meetings, interactions between farmers and scientists, buyer-seller meetings, alongside various technical sessions and workshops.
These venues will allow farmers and agri-entrepreneurs from India and abroad to exchange experiences regarding smart farming, marketing, and processing. Discussions will focus on advanced agricultural technologies, drone technologies, modern farming equipment, water management in agriculture, and agricultural exports.
The meeting also addressed the utilization of 500-metric-ton capacity warehouses developed under the world's largest grain storage initiative in the cooperative sector. Senior officials from the relevant departments were in attendance during the discussion.
