New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) The government-supported SWAMIH Investment Fund is anticipated to provide over one lakh homes nationwide, offering much-needed support to more than four lakh individuals trapped in long-delayed housing projects, as reported by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
The Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing (SWAMIH) Investment Fund was initiated in November 2019 following approval from the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This initiative aims to furnish last-mile funding for stalled housing projects, with financial backing from the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance.
The fund has successfully committed its entire investable corpus ahead of the investment period's conclusion on December 5, 2025.
With investments in more than 145 housing projects across 30 cities, SWAMIH has positioned itself as the largest platform in the country focused on resolving residential stress.
By December 15, 2025, approximately 61,000 homes have been delivered across 110 projects.
