New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) Government-driven digital platforms, backed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), such as U-WIN and eVIN, have significantly bolstered India’s immunisation framework, according to a report released by the UN agency on Wednesday.

The annual report 2025, launched at UN House during the Country Programme Management Board meeting, highlighted that U-WIN successfully tracked immunisation services for 32 million expectant mothers and 97 million children.

Meanwhile, eVIN facilitated the oversight of vaccine inventories and cold-chain temperatures across 30,000 cold-chain locations, encompassing over 650 million doses.

Additionally, these immunisation platforms extended insurance coverage to 42 million farmers, while aiding 63,000 individuals in developing climate-resilient livelihoods in the nation.

The report also showcased UNDP’s contributions to advancements in areas such as SDG localisation, acceleration, financing, digital healthcare solutions, childcare support, crop insurance, and climate action.

“India’s developmental achievements in 2025 reflect strong governmental leadership in large-scale delivery through public systems. These systems cater to health, insurance, care, and climate initiatives, reaching women, children, farmers, waste workers, and low-income households,” stated Angela Lusigi, Resident Representative, UNDP India.

“UNDP takes pride in supporting these initiatives by enhancing technical proficiency, ensuring public programs operate more efficiently, and responding promptly during times of need,” she added.

Moreover, the report indicated that UNDP collaborated with national and state authorities to enhance the transition of Sustainable Development Goals from policy formulation to practical execution.

The SDG Coordination and Acceleration approach has now been integrated across key ministries, fostering more coordinated implementation.

At the subnational tier, SDG monitoring frameworks are operational in 33 out of 36 States and Union Territories, enhancing data-driven planning and budgeting.

Furthermore, economic stability has been fortified through improved social protection and risk management measures.

India’s crop insurance initiative, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), has extended coverage to 42 million farmers, enabling farming households to recover more swiftly from environmental and income disruptions, as reported.

Community-based childcare models have empowered women in low-income urban settings to pursue employment while simultaneously generating jobs within the care sector.

In 2025, UNDP assisted India in crafting its National Adaptation Plan and a gender-responsive Biodiversity Finance Plan.

Community-led restoration efforts have aided over 63,000 individuals in establishing climate-resilient livelihoods, thereby mitigating vulnerability to environmental shocks while maintaining income stability, the report elaborated.
