New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) Fueled by the increasing demand for luxury SUVs, a rising premium tire segment, and enhanced road infrastructure, Yokohama India announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its local manufacturing capabilities at its cutting-edge facility located in Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
Yokohama commenced operations in India in 2007, and its first manufacturing plant was inaugurated in November 2014.
The company has now started producing 20-inch tires to meet the growing demand for larger tires in the Indian market, as stated in an announcement.
Among its premium tire offerings is the Geolandar X-CV (G057), a high-performance tire specifically designed for luxury SUVs.
The firm emphasized its ongoing adaptation to market trends, fostering a culture of motoring excellence, and its commitment to creating innovative mobility solutions that cater to the evolving preferences of Indian drivers.
Featuring an asymmetric tread design, advanced silica compounds, and a 2-ply sidewall, the X-CV ensures a smooth driving experience, improved grip, and durability.
It is now accessible through Yokohama India's vast network of over 3,000 retailers across the country.
This expansion comes on the heels of Yokohama India’s recent announcement regarding the localization of 19-inch tire production, marking yet another significant step in its commitment to providing world-class products.
With the enhancement of road infrastructure and advancements in vehicle design, passenger vehicles are increasingly opting for larger tires, according to the company.
Additionally, larger tires provide improved handling and safety by accommodating advanced braking systems.
By enhancing local production capabilities, the company stated, “we are future-proofing our offerings—now with the capacity to manufacture up to 24-inch tires—ensuring that we continue to serve the premium segment with state-of-the-art, high-performance products.”
Yokohama India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Yokohama Rubber Co. Japan, a company with over a century of global expertise.
