This new plant, situated in IMT Kharkhoda—a dedicated industrial area developed by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC)—is in line with the government's strategy to enhance industrial infrastructure, attract foreign investments, and create job opportunities in the area.

Operations at the plant are expected to begin in 2027, significantly strengthening SMIPL’s manufacturing capabilities within India. Once operational, the facility will create approximately 2,000 jobs, according to a company statement.
