Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) Actor Adarsh Gourav, whose film 'Superboys of Malegaon' is poised to hit theatres this Friday, revealed how he maintained a low profile during the film's shooting.

In an interview with IANS leading up to the film’s premiere, Adarsh disclosed that he acquired attire similar to that of the film's inspiration, Nasir Sheikh.

Adarsh shared with IANS, “While preparing for the film, I traveled to Malegaon. I recall, I only brought along 2 or 3 clothing items. On the first day, we went shopping. Nasir bhai helped me pick out a shirt, trousers, and slippers from Kidwai Road. I wore those same trousers and slippers for the following 15 days I was there. The locals in Malegaon didn't recognize me, which worked to my advantage since I wanted to avoid drawing attention. Nasir bhai and I would sit together and discuss our lives, focusing more on Nasir bhai's experiences than mine.”

'Superboys of Malegaon' chronicles the journey of an aspiring filmmaker, Nasir, who gathers his friends to create a film for their town, Malegaon.

He added, “One day, I had an idea and suggested to him, ‘Why don’t we make a film again? This way, I can observe you without interfering creatively.’ He hadn’t made a film in about 10-12 years. I promised to produce and assist him, while also capturing my own behind-the-scenes footage.”

“We collaborated on the script for 3-4 days and shot at the same locations where Nasir bhai previously filmed. We involved the same people he used to work with, making it a truly enriching experience. We released that film on YouTube, titled 'Nana Ki Kranti', and I hope to share my behind-the-scenes footage soon, which I am currently editing,” he concluded.

Produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Reema Kagti, the film is set for a theatrical release on Friday and will also be available for streaming on Prime Video.
