Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, 9 August launched the 'Tiranga Yatra with Youth' initiative in Lucknow, asserting that India's youth hold the talent and energy to overcome every national challenge — but require the right platforms to direct that potential toward nation-building. The event was held under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign and coincided with the 101st anniversary of the Kakori Train Action.

What Yogi Adityanath Said

'The youth of our country is talented and is a symbol of energy. It has the capability to face every challenge that comes before the nation. There is a need to provide this youth energy with the right platform to move forward,' Adityanath said at the launch event.

He called on young people to go beyond conventional academic curricula and engage with the challenges confronting the country and society. He also underscored that Tiranga Yatras were being organised across India by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in this spirit.

Tributes to Freedom Fighters and National Symbols

Marking the 101st anniversary of the Kakori Train Action, Adityanath paid tribute to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's independence, and specifically recalled the contributions of Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr B R Ambedkar, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

He described the Tricolour as far more than a national flag. 'The Tricolour is not merely the national flag; it is a symbol of the country's simplicity, development and its honour and pride. It reflects India's national consciousness and glory,' he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that 'Vande Mataram' — India's national song — is completing 150 years in 2025, with celebrations being held across the country to mark the milestone.

Heritage, Punishment Provisions, and Modi's Leadership

Adityanath said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, respect for India's heritage and national symbols had been accorded the highest priority. He stated that provisions for strict punishment had been put in place against those who insult the country's heritage and eminent personalities.

'The tendency to insult the country's heritage and its great personalities while living in India cannot be accepted,' he said.

The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, and several senior BJP leaders and workers.

Chaudhary said every Indian feels pride on seeing the Tricolour aloft, recalling the soldiers who guard the country's borders. 'This is the same Tricolour for whose protection the soldiers deployed on the country's borders do not hesitate to make the supreme sacrifice,' he said. He added that the sight of the Indian flag at global sporting arenas gives athletes the confidence to pursue seemingly impossible goals.

Campaign Appeal and What Comes Next

Leaders at the event urged youth and party workers to carry the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to every section of society and encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day. The campaign is part of a broader BJP-led nationwide mobilisation timed to the run-up to 15 August.
